Spring Cleaning

After a LONG winter of freezing temperatures and snow storms in the wrong parts of the country, spring is finally here!

With the warmer weather and start of quarter two right around the corner, what are your plans?

Are you consistently working towards your practice goals for the year?
Have you been meeting with your billing team consistently and keeping a close watch on rejections, resubmissions, and your insurance and patient aging situation?

Have you been blocking out time to hold inservices with staff to review your updated treatment protocols and further educate them on all things podiatry?

And finally, what about actual spring cleaning?
When you are in surgery or out of the office, staff members could be doing the following (or create your own non-patient hours task list):

  • Clean out drawers, cabinets and closets
  • Throw away expired products (order replacement)
  • Discard old requisitions, out of date order and patient forms, etc.
  • Create easily accessible file folders that are clearly labeled for updated forms
  • Reorganize and take pictures of treatment room drawers and cabinets so that any staff member can stock and take inventory
  • Create your own front and back office training manuals to assure consistency and avoid overstocking. This will also help to establish “par levels” for commonly used items (example: must have 2 Small, 4 Medium and 4 Large CAM Walkers in stock at all times)
