Effective May 1st, Section 3709 of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act temporarily suspends the 2% payment adjustment currently applied to all Medicare Fee-For-Service (FFS) claims due to sequestration. The suspension is effective for claims with dates of service from May 1 through December 31, 2020.

It is advised that while the suspension went into effect May 1, it may take time for Medicare Advantage payers to reflect the change in their systems. Monitor reimbursements closely (and make sure your biller or RCM company is aware) to ensure that you are receiving the full payment.
