Does Your SOP Need an SOP?
How are those SOPs coming along? Have you started yet? Are you or your staff unsure where to begin? Well, you can start by re-reading the Pro Tip from March 16th (15 SOPs that Impact Revenue Most) and use that as a jumping off point.
Just as an aside. . . If you have fallen behind reading your Pro Tips and would like a member of your staff to receive them (so they can give you the cliff notes version during your morning huddle on Tuesdays), please email admin@pinnaclepa.com (include the name and preferred email address).
This week instead of providing you with a full length tip, I offer two SOP samples. The first “Patient Intake/Check-in” and the second, an extremely detailed “Insurance Verification” (created by Arista Virtual Pros- if you are considering a VA- I highly recommend working with them- email me for contact info).
Sometimes there are tasks within SOPs that need further explanation/instruction. A perfect example of this is the process of insurance verification (included as a task to be completed in the intake/check-in SOP, and in need of its own detailed instructions). This of course should be done before check-in but is included as a reminder of the work involved in preparing for each patient (especially new ones).
Exciting news! We are currently building a “Standard Operating Procedures” section in the Pinnacle resource library that will include sample SOPs and information related to the positive impact they will have on your practice.
Enjoy!
