Use it or Lose it
There are officially less than 30 working days left in the year (that includes if you work the days after Thanksgiving and Christmas and half days on Christmas and New Years Eve- so maybe less). That also means potential savings and spending benefits for you and your patients.
Begin by taking a close inventory of your supplies, making note of what you need now and what you would like to stock up on with end-of-year vendor specials. Now is the time to “open before you archive” (don’t miss emails from me with special offers from Pinnacle preferred vendors that will save above and beyond your already discounted prices).
Create “holiday specials”, “patient appreciation” offers, and “stocking stuffer” promotions with your medical grade and physician only products and services. This can be as simple as a BOGO on medical grade orthotics (buy one and get a second pair half price) or wrapping your antifungal nail polish in ribbon and throwing in a free polish remover when they buy two bottles. An eye catching sign may help . . . “For your loved one who has everything, including foot pain, nail fungus, dry skin, _______ (you get the idea).” Ask your staff to help and make it fun!
Remind patients with FSAs to “use it or lose it” by the end of the year by purchasing your medical grade and physician only products and services. Look at previous encounters to see what they purchased at past encounters and ask if they would like a “refill.”
Stay tuned for more ideas and for those who read last week’s Pro Tip. . . . the sausage is being picked up as I write!
